Suitable for highly sensitive surfaces

As the requirements for component quality continue to rise, optical measurement systems are increasingly being utilized. In particular, the clamping of small, delicate workpieces is of special importance. It must guarantee precision, reproducibility, and repeatability. This applies to both optical (2D) inspections, such as with incident light or transmitted light, as well as in 3D measurement.

With the XS, WITTE has developed a modular clamping and fixing system specifically for optical measurement, testing, and multisensor measurement devices. It ensures the secure holding of components with fine geometries without damaging or deforming the workpiece. At the same time, it ensures that all necessary measurement points can be captured, whether with the various light sources of multisensor technology (incident light, transmitted light, coaxial light) or with a tactile probe system.

In 2D measurements, the workpiece usually rests on the glass plate of the testing device table and is aligned against the inner sides of the XS frame, clamping it against the frame and/or the glass plate. In 3D measurements, the frame serves as the base for setting up even more complex contact and support points, allowing the workpiece to be measured from multiple sides.

The basic components of the ALUFIX® XS clamping system include one-piece, optionally rectangular or round, closed or open frames. This also includes rails that allow for various open frame configurations, such as angled or U-shaped arrangements, as well as special frames adapted to support tables. Suitable rails for subdividing the frames for clamping multiple test parts are also included. They are also suitable for precisely positioning alignment and clamping elements as closely as possible. The set also includes adapter plates, pin blocks, clamping holders, and telescopic columns.
