1969

Foundation of the company

Founded in Bleckede by Horst Witte as a contract manufacturing company for the aerospace industry.

The trained technician and master craftsman employed one additional worker at the time – a farmer retrained as a universal milling machine operator

1971

The company grows

Just two years later, the workforce had grown to eight employees. Space in the original building — a former blacksmith’s shop in Bleckede — became limited, prompting Horst Witte to build a new, larger production hall for the company.

1973

The first patented product

Horst Witte developed his first proprietary product, protected by a utility model: RKD, the radius and ball turning device. This was the first of over 200 patents and trademarks to follow. WITTE also participated as an exhibitor at an international trade fair for the first time, the EMO in Hannover.

1982

Vacuum product group

Another self-developed product group complements the portfolio: Vacuum. To this day, it remains an important business area with a high degree of innovation.

1985

Witte goes global

First export activities with own products and services.

1987

Market launch of ALUFIX

Market launch of the first modular fixture construction kit under the ALUFIX brand.

1990

Steady growth

The company has continued to develop excellently. In the meantime, the basis for the extremely successful ALUFIX system had been laid and the product range had been expanded to include feeding systems and devices for large components. The company continues to expand and moves into a new building at its current location in the Bleckede district of Barskamp, now with 90 employees.

1992

Chemnitz branch

Foundation of the sales and service branch in Chemnitz.

1999

Expansion and internationalization

The production and storage capacities have to be increased again. A second production hall is built. The innovative solutions and high-precision components from Bleckede have long since attracted attention abroad. The former two-man contract manufacturer has become a medium-sized company with around 140 employees.

2001

Foundation of WITTE Far East Pte. Ltd (Singapore)

Witte Far East Pte. Ltd. is founded in Singapore. With its central location, the Singapore site enables support for the entire Asian region plus Australia. With its own 3D design department, production and assembly area as well as an elaborate measuring center, Witte Far East completely handles extensive projects here.

2002

Development of “sandwich panels”

The “sandwich panels” research and development project is launched and remains an important, now independent product group to this day.

2004

Expansion into North America

Witte makes the leap across the North Atlantic and establishes Witte America with sales offices in Indianapolis (Indiana), El Paso (Texas) and Atlanta (Georgia) and later with additional sales partners in Canada.

2005

QM management certifications

WITTE is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and 9100.

2007

New buildings / start of automation

Further expansion of the production and service areas through the construction of new halls. The “Imagine” research and development project is successfully completed: sandwich panels are mobile, now have air bearings and drives and can be operated remotely.

2008

Introduction “ALUFIX ECO”

Market launch of “ALUFIX ECO” for conventional fixture construction.

2009

40 years of WITTE!

Horst Witte Gerätebau e.K. changes its name to Horst Witte Gerätebau KG and celebrates its 40th anniversary. The founder and innovation driver Horst Witte has turned his company into one of the leading international developers and manufacturers of modular clamping, positioning and measuring devices as well as feeding systems with energy and foresight. Contract machining of components, primarily for the demanding aerospace industry, is still part of the service portfolio. Andreas Witte, son of the founder, is appointed sole authorized signatory and Technical Director.

2010

Personnel changes & further growth

Dipl.-Ing. Jens Düffert and Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Barth are appointed sole authorized signatories. Jürgen Barth assumes responsibility for global sales and local management of the foreign companies in the USA, Mexico and Brazil. Jens Düffert takes over responsibility as Managing Director of Witte Far East Pte Ltd. Restructuring of the subsidiaries Witte Far East Pte Ltd. and Witte LP. Witte LP moves its headquarters first from El Paso, Texas to Tucker, Georgia and then from Tucker to Duluth, Georgia. The service portfolio now also includes the local construction of devices. Witte Far East Pte. Ltd. gives up local manufacturing and contract measurement. It is now the competent location for fixture design, project management and commissioning in the entire Asian region.

2013

Automated transport and loading project

The first fully automated transport and loading project for measurement technology: an external control station coordinates eleven Witte sandwich panels for loading optical and tactile measuring machines in what is currently the most innovative measuring room at the Volkswagen plant in Emden.

2016

Change of name & expansion of the management board

Horst Witte sets further milestones for the future development of the company and expands the company management. His son Andreas Witte and graduate engineer Jens Düffert join him as managing directors. Both have been associated with the company for a long time and are guarantors of continuous success. At the same time, the company changes its name to Witte Barskamp KG - thereby also documenting its loyalty to the location for almost half a century.

2018

Innovative adhesive bonding / “TopPos”

Bonding technology goes into series production: innovator Horst Witte revolutionizes joining technology and replaces key screw connections with bonded joints. In-house bonding engineers are trained. Based on this, new concepts for fixture systems and components are developed in parallel. “TopPos” goes into series production. TopPos is the first modular fixture system without special components and is one hundred percent reusable

2019

WITTE celebrates 50 years!

Witte Barskamp KG celebrates its 50th anniversary as an economically extremely stable company with a first-class global position.

2021

Change of corporate form

Change of the company form to Witte Barskamp GmbH & Co. KG. The previous managing director Jens Düffert becomes a co-partner.

2023-

Reorganization and strong succession

Foundation of an advisory board, Horst and Andreas Witte move from the operational business to the advisory board. Jens Düffert becomes managing partner. An extensive transformation and reorganization process is carried out. In addition to a reorganization from the manufacturing principle to process-oriented procedures, such as the establishment of a project management office, a customer center, the establishment of 7 independently organized production islands, the use of automated logistics systems, a separate WITTE academy for customers and employees was also established.
