Self-administration proceedings lifted – Restart with investor solution

Lüneburg/Bleckede, November 6, 2025 – By order of the Local Court of Lüneburg dated November 6, 2025, the self-administration proceedings have been terminated. The resolution received unanimous approval with a 100 percent consent rate. Backed by two investors and its management team, Witte Barskamp GmbH is repositioning itself for the future.

Witte Barskamp GmbH is a producer of high-precision components and fixtures made of aluminum. Witte products make a substantial contribution to solving metrological tasks in various industries. Due to declining sales and sinking margins in its main automotive-related market, the former Witte Barskamp GmbH & Co. KG initiated self-administration proceedings in December 2024 – a restructuring path where management retains control and a court-appointed administrator provides oversight. During the process, a social plan was agreed upon with employee representatives to adjust personnel capacities, which resulted in the reduction of 53 jobs.

Future in new hands – with industrial expertise
With AW Operations & Equity GmbH in Osnabrück and HERMONT GmbH in Porta Westfalica, two private investors have been secured who bring industrial experience and a sustainable continuation concept to the table. The management board and two other Witte managers are also taking a stake in the company.

Andreas Schwaner, spokesperson for the investors, comments:
"The company is a technology-driven specialist in the industrial metrology segment. We are absolutely convinced of Witte's future viability and will continue to serve our customers with the highest quality in service and products. However, we also expect their recognition in the form of cost-covering prices."

Continuation and innovation
Business operations at the Barskamp site will continue unchanged. Customer and service relationships remain in place. Operationally, the focus on precise aluminum solutions for industrial use remains. The company name is new: The business will be continued as Witte Barskamp GmbH.

Witte Managing Director Jens Düffert comments:
"The phase of uncertainty has finally ended for the workforce. All 110 employees, including 13 apprentices, will be transferred to the 'new' Witte. We look to the future with confidence."

Strong restructuring team – targeted completion
The solution was made possible through the efforts of the court-appointed administrator, lawyer Hendrik Könemann (Könemann Rechtsanwälte, Lüneburg). Sparkasse Lüneburg also made an important contribution to the preservation of the company through its constructive cooperation.

The legal advice for the self-administrator was provided by lawyer Nikolas Otto (BBL Brockdorff Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, Hanover). Worstbrock management consultancy was responsible for the commercial support.

Lawyer Hendrik Könemann, court-appointed administrator, explains:
"The professional coordination between the court, management, and consultants paved the way for a viable investor solution. The creditors also approved the restructuring plan. This ensures that not only an internationally active high-tech company but also an attractive employer remains in our region."

Dipl.-Kfm. Alexander Worstbrock, owner of the Worstbrock management consultancy, emphasizes:
"The successful conclusion of these proceedings underlines the effectiveness of structured self-administration. It created the necessary framework to preserve responsibility, implement measures in a targeted manner, and realize investor solutions at eye level. Decisive factors were the timely action taken by management and the professional cooperation of all groups involved in the process."

All parties involved agree that the measures taken provide a sustainable foundation for the continuation and further development of Witte Barskamp GmbH.
